Glamming Up Ginnie To Say I Do!

It was so fun getting to do Ginnie’s makeup, and seeing her reaction when I was finished!  Initially, Ginnie was on the fence about wanting to get her makeup done professionally for her wedding.  I would say SheWasThisCloseToPassing on the idea; but luckily she saw the benefits of being pampered on such an important day!

She made my job easy!  Her skin was amazing, and her beautiful almond-shaped, green eyes were to die for!  Ginnie was very relaxed, and just a pleasure to work with that day!  So, please check out a few pics of Ginnie getting glammed up and saying I Do!

I had the pleasure of meeting this “cool cat” at a networking event in Columbus!  Since then, Joseph has been a staple on my newsfeed and in my professional world!  He is always referring business my way, and is such a team player!  I am so happy to have met him, and hopefully, we can collaborate on some weddings this year!  So CHEERS!  Here’s to the last Featured Vendor of 2014: Joseph Testa Films!

 

Joseph Testa Films is a wholly owned subsidiary, aka Registered Trade Name of Testa Enterprise Consulting, Inc.  We opened the doors under this new name on Jan 1st, 2014.

I started the original business Testa Enterprise Consulting, Inc, in 1997, by me.
We had been doing wedding films for friends and family since 1991.  In 2007 we decided to take it to professional level.  We figured as much experience as we had, why not?
We offer 3 types of services:
1.  Beautiful Wedding Films:  We capture, preserve and produce beautiful wedding films
2.  Small business corporate promotional videos:  For small businesses, we work with the owners and put together for them a company promo they can put in youtube, their website, explaining what they do and how they can help their clients.
3.  Media Conversion Services:  We take old media, like VHS tapes and convert them to DVD/mp4, so you can share those old movies.
We’re different from most videographers as we don’t produce 1-2 hour long drawn out documentaries, we produce 10-30 wedding feature films.
In 2015, we’re setting ourselves to partner with other wedding professionals and offer packages(like with photographers is one example), where getting a combo-package is less expensive than hiring the two vendors separately.

Although I have been doing weddings since 1995, Elegant Affairs Wedding Services was officially born in 2008 after I completed my Professional Consultant Training, obtained my Federal I.D. number and registered the business with the State of Ohio.

 

  • Who started the business?

I, Carolyn Catchings, started the business.

I am a retired Human Resources Director from the State of Ohio. I worked for the State of Ohio a total of 30 years.

I am a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants. ABC is the only organization dedicated exclusively to serving wedding professionals and brides worldwide since 1955. www.BridalAssn.com

In order to maintain my professional designation and membership in the ABC, I have to attend training every year.

Elegant Affairs Wedding Services is a family oriented business. The Staff has worked with us since the inception of the business and is professionally trained.

  • Inspiration behind the concept?

For 19 years I have consulted with and coordinated weddings for family members, friends, and friends of friends.  Many of them would suggest that I start a business but I would respond if it becomes work, it will no longer be fun.

 

As I started thinking about retirement from the State of Ohio, I decided I would become a Professional Consultant/Coordinator because that is what I love to do and Elegant Affairs was born.

We believe every bride should have the wedding she has always dreamed of.  We offer affordable packages and allow them to make payments.

Kathy Piech-Lukas has been my fairy godmother this past year.  Shear Hotness is the glass slipper that it is today, in part due to her: guidance, patience, and expertise of the bridal industry.  Kathy’s bubbly, animated personality eased my jitters when I was the newbie vendor at the cafe… and becoming a preferred vendor of Your Dream Day Cafe is one of the best business decisions I’ve made all year.  Your Dream Day Cafe is, without a doubt, your “go to” when searching for the best bridal vendors in the business!   • Inspiration behind the concept?
Prior to opening the company, I worked in corporate event planning working for two different Fortune 500 companies. During the weeks leading up to my wedding I had five different vendors suggest to me that I become a wedding planner. I had no idea what that was, so I had to do some research about it. The number of customers we had doubled each year the first three years we were in business, and the rest is history.
  • What services does Y.D.D offer?
We offer wedding planning and consulting services, including full planning, partial planning, vendor referrals and selection, schedule creation, checklist and timeline management, and weekend wedding coordination. We also offer wedding gown preservation.
  • What makes Y.D.D. different?
We develop very close relationships with our clients, almost like a big sister to the bride and a translator for the parents. We have a very energetic, fun easy going style. We love to laugh and have fun with you and the planning.
  • What’s new on the horizon?
We now have two locations — our main location, located in the Shops of Oakwood, which also includes a self serve wedding planning cafe, meeting rooms for vendors, fresh daily cake samples, and planning resources. Our second location is located inside the Sharonville Fine Arts Center in Cincinnati, right in downtown Sharonville
